In a move sure to stun critics and supporters alike President Obama has decided to mark the birth of the Adolf Hitler, albeit 3 months late with a portrait to be hung in the White House lobby.
Press Secretary Robert Gibbs explained the decision in this morning's press conference, saying, "While some people like to focus only on Hitler's personal difficulties with members of his own people...the President understands that in order to move forward and make the right desicions in our own country we must all appreciate the positive aspects of the Chancellor's administration."
When pressed by reporters what those positive aspects could be Gibbs explained that as the Obama administration is trying to accomplish "Hitler had the most comprehensive health care and enviornmental initiatives of any leader of the 20th century."
Sam Donaldson, chief Washington Correspondent of Black Dog Press, then asked, "Did not those initiatives involve the systematic murder of more than 6 million Jews and countless others" to which Gibbs quipped, "Its not really about personal issues Sam. It's not about Hitler, it's celebrating what he did for this country in the 30's and 40's."
In a related story a drunken Sean Hannity was quoted outside the press room as saying, "Strike up another victory for the master race."
